After being in office for more than a year, President Joe Biden continues to have low approval ratings in the latest Redfield & Wilton Strategies poll.
Only 38 percent of eligible US voters approve of Biden’s job performance, as compared with 48 percent who disapproved. 31% of those disapproving said they “strongly disagree” with Biden’s job performance, and 11% said they neither approve or disapprove. The remaining 3 percent “don’t know.”
After dealing with poor decision-making and record-high inflation, the president’s first year as president was marred by inexplicable poll numbers. The Republican bloc and the two Senate Democrats, Sens. Joe Manchin (D-WV), and Kyrsten Sinema, (D-AZ), are not willing to yield to the far-left of their party.
Only 36% of respondents favored Harris’ handling of her job. 43% disapproved. 33% of those disapproving said they “strongly disagree” with Harris’ job performance, and 16% said they didn’t approve or disapprove. Five percent did not know.
According to the Los Angeles Times, Harris also had a difficult first year in office. This was after her “well-publicized gaffes” and high staff turnover. Her political allies and new staff wanted Harris to take advantage of the receding coronavirus to travel more. Although her staff didn’t want to label this a “political restart,” they hoped she would be a champion of the few achievements the Biden administration was able to achieve.
The Redfield & Wilton Strategies poll took place on February 6. The online poll had a 1,500-voteer sample and was conducted in February. There was no margin for error.
