Biden Says Its Up To The Travelers If They Want To Wear Masks On Planes

When President Joe Biden was asked Tuesday whether people should still wear masks on planes, he quickly replied, “That’s up to them.” This comment was made after the White House attempted to extend the federal mandate on planes and other modes for transportation was rebuffed by a federal judge Monday.

Although the mandate was set to expire several times in the last two years, it was extended by two weeks to Monday, May 3rd.

Kathryn Kimball Mizelle (Trump-nominated Judge) concluded that the mask mandate was beyond the authority of the CDC under the Public Health Services Act.

The original case was brought to Judge Mizelle originally by Health Freedom Defense Fund, Inc., Ana Daza, Sarah Pope, who were against an administration decision to extend the time.

Jen Psaki, White House Press Secretary, called it “a disappointing decision” at Monday’s press briefing.

In addition, the Transportation Security Administration announced that they will no more enforce national mask mandates after the ruling.

Fox News received a report from a traveler expressing her opinions on the recent controversy surrounding the mask mandate. She said, “I’m thrilled.” She said, “It’s about time,” and added, “It should be over a long while ago.”

Another said to Fox News reporter, “I believe it’s time we just move on.”

Biden was also asked whether he would appeal the decision of the judge to strike down the mask mandate. Biden responded that he had not yet spoken to the CDC.

Biden made the comment Tuesday at Portsmouth airport that wearing a mask was “up to” Americans after fighting for the extension of the mandate.

Biden was in Portsmouth, New Hampshire on Tuesday morning to deliver a speech about infrastructure projects.
