Donald Trump, former President and Florida Governor. Ron DeSantis and former President Donald Trump are the two top GOP presidential candidates for 2024. Many attendees at Turning Point USA this weekend revealed their preferences.
Fox News Digital interviewed many activists at the Turning Point USA Student Action Summit to find out who they would like to see as the next Republican presidential candidate. Trump and DeSantis were most frequently mentioned, with Trump having an advantage among a small group of young activists.
“Donald Trump, naturally, is the man. Nathan Koenig, Louisiana, said that Trump created the MAGA movement and should be our leader. He really shaken up the swamp, and no other Republican Party member can do that as he could.
However, not all activists were fully on board with Trump’s 2024 agenda. Christian Veiga from California stated, “I switch between Trump and DeSantis.” Ella Reed from Tennessee stated that she would like Sen. Tim Scott (R-S.C.) to run because he “brings an energy and a new voice to the new energy we’re experiencing in the conservative movement.”
Alora Peters, from Florida, stated that she would like DeSantis running for president, because she likes his policies regarding COVID-19, and his emphasis on family. She said, “That’s something that I am passionate about.”
However, most people who spoke with Fox News Digital stated that they wanted Trump.
Trump and DeSantis may not be the only Republicans preparing for a run in 2024. Former Vice President Mike Pence and former Secretary of State Mike Pompeo were both former U.S. officials. Nikki Haley, Maryland Governor, is the Ambassador to United Nations Nikki Haley. Larry Hogan and Ambassador to the United Nations Nikki Haley are two other potential candidates.
