Florida Gov. According to a Chamber of Commerce survey, Ron DeSantis (R), is leading the potential Democrat challengers in this governor’s race.
The survey compared the governor to the two top Democrats in the Sunshine State primary race for governor: Rep. Charlie Crist, and Commissioner of Agriculture Nikki Fried.
In a head to head matchup, DeSantis leads Crist by eight percentage points — Crist’s 43% support is 51 percent and Crist’s 43%. Fried also fails to beat DeSantis as Fried leads at 50 percent to the Democrat’s 43 percent support.
A recent poll by the University of North Florida’s Public Opinion Research Lab (PORL), showed similar results. DeSantis outperformed both of his potential rivals, with Crist leading at 50 percent to 42 per cent and Fried at 50 percent to 43 per cent.
UNF poll showed Fried leading Crist in Democrat primary, 47 percent to 43 per cent. However, a Crist internal poll released last week showed Crist leading Fried 52 percent to 36%:
Both Democrat candidates are the complete opposite of DeSantis. They oppose parental rights in education, and they champion coronavirus lockdowns.
Florida’s primary is Tuesday, August 23.
