Jeffrey Epstein Documents To Be Unsealed, Potentially Revealing Acquaintances, Judges Orders

Jeffrey Epstein, a federal judge, has ordered documents concerning Jeffrey Epstein and his associates to be sealed.
Friday’s defamation case against Ghislaine Maxill’s ex-Epstein handler resulted in several documents being released by Judge Loretta Preska. They could be damaging to the reputations of the people named in them.

Preska ruled that privacy rights for eight “John Does” included in the documents were more important than the public interest. They are called Does 12, 28, 97, and 107.

Insider reports that Tom Pritzker is one of the eight. Pritzker was worried that documents linking him with the controversial financier could damage his reputation.

Preska generally disagreed with his concerns. Preska stated that many of these documents were already under other legal challenges and that the contents did not indicate malicious actions.

Doe 107 also objected against the publication of documents linking them to Epstein.

Emmy Tayler was also mentioned in the documents. She was Ghislaine Maxwell’s former personal assistant and was also accused in the sexual abuse of victims.

Tayler is part of another lawsuit that objected to publication. She also denied any wrongdoing during her time at Maxwell.

Judge Preska stated in her ruling that much of the information in the document batch was publically accessible from another lawsuit. She ordered its release.

Judge Preska ordered Doe to make public 183 documents because they were “subjected to intense media coverage.” She deliberately withheld their release until November 28 in order to let Doe appeal her decision.

Insider reports that she said Doe 183 was not to be redacted.

The judge also ordered that all documents relating to Doe147, which was named by the judge as Epstein victim Sarah Ransome, be sealed.

Preska confirmed Ransome had been a victim to sex abuse. However, she stated that she was already a witness in another case. Ransome also wrote an opinion piece for the Washington Post that provided relevant details.

Maxwell was sentenced for 20 years imprisonment after the judge said that some documents had been made available to Maxwell during his trial last year.

The judge however kept some under seals and agreed to keep some sealing.
Doe 12 was also listed as a victim of abuse.

Judge Preska ordered Doe 28’s documents to be sealed because Doe 28 was “victim of sexual assault and continues to suffer trauma as the result of these events.” ”

The Media organisations requested that Virginia Roberts Giuffre release documents from Maxwell’s 2016 defamation case against Maxwell.

Documents have been released on a regular schedule as part of the settlement. This was just days after Epstein’s death.
