Study Finds the US Is Far From a Democracy, It’s a Functional Oligarchy

Americans are encouraged to feel liberated by making meaningless decisions. There are only two parties. There has been a decrease in the number of media companies. There are now only a few banks that offer banking services. There are oil companies. These are very important and you have very few options. You are aware of your freedom to choose in America. Plastic or paper. George Carlin

“Democracy is on the ballot,” was the constant, mindless talk point that was repeated over and over by the Democrat Party surrogates this cycle. They’ll continue to repeat that talking point as long as they can, as that’s all that they have.

Promoting Democracy, as the main selling point for Democrats, is beneficial because the term is vague. Most targeted voters will not think critically about Democracy or even whether it exists.

It doesn’t, unfortunately. It is a childish dream to have democracy, in America by 2022. A pipe dream. A mirage.

The persistent propaganda in schools and corporate media has made it clear that the United States is a strong democracy. Two political scientists quietly destroyed the story in 2014.

Instead of blindly adhering to Democracy, the researchers quantitatively analyzed how the government’s gears actually work. They analyzed thousands of policy decisions and then stacked them against public opinion that was divided by economic status or interest groups.

Here’s what they discovered, published in “Testing Theories of American Politics – Elites, Interest groups and Average Citizens”:

Multivariate analysis shows that organized business groups and economic elites have significant independent influences on U.S. government policies, while average citizens or mass-based interest groups have very little to no influence. These results support theories of Economic-Elite Domination, Biased Pluralism, and theories of Biased Pluralism. However, the results do not support theories of Majoritarian Electoral Democracy and Majoritarian Pluralism. When a majority vote against organized interests and/or economic elites, they usually lose. Due to the strong status-quo bias embedded in the US political system, even though a large majority of Americans favor policy change, they usually don’t get it… Average citizens and mass-based interest groups have little to no independent influence [over US policies].

In a nutshell, this means that your opinions about what should happen in your country are irrelevant unless you are a member of the D.C.-centric ruling class. Your interests are not in the elite interests.

It is open to debate when exactly America lost its true democracy and whether or not it ever existed in the first place. It is clear that Americans’ right to self-governance, as it was enumerated by the founding documents of the Great Experiment, has been stolen. Ironically, this is the exact same band of ravenous, vultures who chant nonstop about the Democracy.

Trump was 100% off target when he pledged to #draintheswamp. The swamp is now murkier than ever, and there’s no hope for a solution in the near future.

You must remember that monsters are not your own creation. If you stare long into the abyss the abyss will also gaze into you. — Friedrich Nietzsche.
