Zeldin Supporter Attacked, Choked at Hochul Event Speaks Out

Published on

Rep. Lee Zeldin (a supporter of the GOP gubernatorial nominee), was captured on video being attacked and choked during a New York City event to elect Democratic Governor. Kathy Hochul was interviewed by Fox News for the first time.

Angelica Torres was carrying an anti-Hochul sign to an event for Democratic governor in Manhattan on Saturday. She recalled how a woman took her sign and threw the sign.

Torres, trying to retrieve her sign from the wall, said that an unidentified male approached her and grabbed her neck. The Zeldin supporter claims that Crystal Hudson, New York City Councilmember, was also holding onto Torres by her arm.

Torres stated that he was “pretty much defenseless and outnumbered,” to Fox News reporter Eric Shawn. “I was definitely shocked. It was almost like I didn’t expect it to happen.

“You know, all of us are very peaceful. The woman continued, “We were there just to, you know, exercise our First Amendment.” “And we just wanted to have our voices heard.”

Fox News captured the alleged attack on Torres.

Shawn stated that New York City Police Department had told Fox News that Torres was being helped by the man who grabbed her throat in the video.

Fox News has not confirmed that the man is a Hochul supporter.

Shawn told Torres that she felt like her voice was being muted. It’s shameful, I think. “You know, I believe that we are supposed to find a middle ground, where we can have disagreements and agreements, but still be respectful.”

“I hope people realize that things are becoming really difficult in the political world. Torres stated that civil conversations are impossible. “We cannot have heated debates without them turning violent. Antifa is where I feel they began to happen. Unfortunately, people continue to ignore it as if it isn’t happening. It’s only going to get worse. “And more and more.”

“I was there peacefully. I was just there to voice my opinion. Torres said that he didn’t mean to hurt anyone. “I believe freedom. People may try to bully and intimidate me, but that doesn’t mean I will change my stance on my morals or my beliefs.

In connection with the incident that was caught on camera, no arrests were made.

Zeldin issued a Twitter statement condemning the incident.
