Joy Reid Makes Suggestive Remark About Herschel Walker

Joy Reid, MSNBC anchor, and LaTosha Brown, Democratic Party strategist, claimed that Georgia’s Black voters have been “insulted” by the manner in which U.S. Senate candidate Herschel Walker has been “walked around” by Republicans and “used” during his campaign.

Both men agreed that Walker’s campaign was a racist attempt to court Black voters.

The anchor talked to Jason Johnson and MSNBC contributor Brown about Monday’s episode on MSNBC’s “The ReidOut” about the state the race was in the night before the election.

The conversation turned to Walker’s GOP allies, Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.), who appeared to support the candidate in a manner that was “insulting” for Black Americans.

Brown stated, “Black people are upset. In fact, they feel insulted.”

She said, “They feel insulted by the Republicans picking a candidate here, and because he is a ballplayer that in someway, and – if the Republicans planted this narrative Black men weren’t going to vote and are upset at the Democratic Party, that would be enough to fool us.”

Brown said, “We are far more sophisticated voters than that.” According to the strategist, Black voters feel “insulted” by this apparent Republican tactic, which she said was “racist.”

Brown claimed then that Walker’s Democratic opponent Sen. Raphael Warnock (D-Ga.), is closer to Black voters in southern states. “Warnock, a Southern Baptist preacher from Martin Luther King’s church, is her opponent.” That’s a lot history and a lot connectivity to our South, at the end of it all.

Reid agreed that Black voters feel “insulted” and that the GOP campaign has shown them “disrespect.”

She specifically mentioned Graham, who was on the campaign trail along with Walker, and she said, “There’s an a certain disrespect that many Black men, in particular about the way Walker has been walked by people like Lindsey Graham. They kind of used and put forward.”

MSNBC’s anchor said, “They don’t seem to like him, and they don’t seem to appreciate Black people.”

Reid previously called Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas “Uncle Clarence,” which is clear reference to the “Uncle Tom” slur for Blacks that was too deferential to Whites. He suggested Sen. Tim Scott (R-S.C.) as a token for his party.

Jen Psaki, MSNBC contributor, attacked the Walker campaign last week. She claimed that Sen. Warnock was “attacking transgender persons” with campaign ads. The high Democratic Party early voter turnout and the candidate’s “craziness” meant that Sen. Warnock had good chances of winning re-election.
