Ron DeSantis To Hold Intimate Dinner With Top Donors Amid 2024 Speculation

Florida Gov. According to reports, Ron DeSantis will host an “intimate meal” with his top donors this weekend. This is amid speculation that he might announce a presidential bid in 2024.

The Washington Post reports that DeSantis is riding high following his huge re-election win in November. This Sunday will see the first of what could be a series invitation-only meetings with donors. According to reports, the invitations to the dinner do not mention a 2024 run. However, they say that the dinner is an opportunity to celebrate DeSantis’ win with his “strongest supporters”.

DeSantis and Trump are trying to dispel any rumors about a presidential run. Trump had already criticized DeSantis before the midterm elections and called him “Ron DeSanctimonious”.

However, the tables were turned on Election Day when Trump’s presidential candidates fared poorly across the country. This cost Republicans control of Congress. DeSantis won Florida by almost 20 points.

Trump attacked DeSantis more aggressively after the election results. But the governor remained calm and took the abuse for several days.

In a post-election statement, Trump called DeSantis “an average REPUBLICAN governor with great Public Relations.”

“And now Ron DeSanctimonious plays games!” Fake News asked him if he would run for President Trump’s office if he did. He replied that he was only focused on the Governor’s Race, not looking to the future. Trump stated in the Truth Social thread that DeSantis approached him in 2017 “desperate” before his first gubernatorial race and Trump “fixed his campaign.”

DeSantis was silent for several days on the matter, until finally speaking out during a press conference that day. This was the same day Trump announced his 2024 campaign. DeSantis did not name Trump, but he was criticized by the media.

DeSantis responded to a question regarding Trump by saying, “I think you will learn that all of it is just noise.” “At the end, I would tell people to check out the scoreboard since last Tuesday night.

Marquette Law School’s new poll suggests that DeSantis would have the edge over Trump, if he decides to run for President. DeSantis enjoyed a 10-point lead over Trump among Republican-identifying voters in the poll in a 55%-45% split.

His lead among the general electorate grew sharper, with 63% saying that they would prefer to see DeSantis win the GOP election over Trump, who only received 36% support.
