Elon Musk conducted a poll to find out whether he should quit Twitter. He promised to follow the results. The results are in and the majority of respondents believe that Musk should focus more on Tesla, SpaceX, and other newsmaking businesses.
61% say Musk should “resign as head of Twitter.” This is not surprising considering that Twitter has been a major left-wing site. There was no way the poll would have been any different if it had received so much attention. Some claim Musk made a mistake and “owned” the results. However, I have a different view.
Musk is the only person who understands Twitter’s political makeup. Because of that, I doubt he expected anything other than a recommendation to resign. He knew what the headwinds were when he put up that poll. Keep in mind that he is merely trolling. Musk knew he would eventually hire a CEO. He has too many other important (and profitable) businesses. Was it really realistic to expect Musk to continue spending his time drinking and making moderation?
This was necessary because Twitter’s culture was so distorted and corrupted that Musk had to clear the house first. He will be able to have fun on Twitter while he works with people he trusts, and that includes a smaller workforce.
That’s my view. Musk isn’t stupid enough to leave the decision to remain CEO of Twitter up to chance. Musk knew precisely what he was getting himself into, so he could now step back and let someone else take over the Twitter reins.
Despite that, I could be wrong about the situation and Musk may not follow the poll’s results. It would be a terrible look, but it is his site. All that private company stuff. Aren’t we all familiar with this concept for many years now?
