New Hampshire Gov. Chris Sununu (R), who was reelected last year, stated that he is “definitely having conversations” about a potential White House bid for 2024.
He insists that there is enough time to make a decision and then announce his candidacy for the presidency. However, he did admit in a Fox News interview that he had been approached about the race and that they have been discussing it.
Sununu stated that it was incredibly flattering to hear about speculations surrounding him making a White Hosue bid. “A lot people are coming to me. Many people want me to run. We are having many conversations about this.”
However, rumors of him running for president in 2024 have been circulating. He acknowledged that New Hampshire is his first priority, but said he would “keep having these conversations.”
After declining to run against Sen. Maggie Hassan (D.NH) in the U.S. Senate in 2022, Sununu was reelected for a fourth term as New Hampshire governor’s office president.
He has been identified as a potential Republican candidate for president, especially after being a constant critic to former President Donald Trump who has already announced his bid for the White House.
“There is no set time or place to make decisions. It’s important for people to know what it’s like. January 4th or 5, right? He explained that it would still be over a year until we reach the first primary in the country.
He stated, “There’s going be a lot more time before folks even get into the race… some people might get in but a lot if candidates will wait to get to get in; they’ll see where the stuff is, see what, and where we are politically,” without giving any details or stating when he would make his decision.
“In six months or one year, we don’t know what could happen, and those unknown variables could have a major impact on who is in the race, and how successful they are. He said that there is a lot of time for things to unfold.
