According the personal lawyer of Biden, the FBI is currently searching the Delaware beach house at Rehoboth for President Joe Biden in connection with the Justice Department (DOJ) probe into Biden’s handling classified materials.
This third search is being made since November 2, when Biden’s lawyers claimed that they had found classified documents relating to Biden’s time as vice president.
CBS reported that the search was conducted without a warrant. This was done in coordination with Biden’s lawyers.
Biden’s lawyer Bob Bauer confirmed this news shortly after it was published by the outlet. He said that the FBI activity was planned and that DOJ’s standard procedures include a search that is not disclosed to the public.
“Today, the DOJ is carrying out a planned search of the President’s house in Rehoboth, Delaware, with his full cooperation and support.” Bauer stated that the standard procedures for the DOJ required it to search the house without any prior notice, in order to ensure operational security. In these circumstances, we agreed to cooperate.
The FBI conducted a mid-November investigation at the Penn Biden Center, D.C. where classified markings first appeared. CBS reported on Tuesday the search after neither Bauer or the White House made it available to the public.
Biden’s Wilmington residence was the focus of a second search. Bauer made the news public about the search the day before it took place. It revealed that more documents with classified markings had been found.
