Woman Accused of Lighting Pride Flag on Fire, Scrawling Jesus is King on Cop Cars

A woman from New York City was accused of setting fire to a pride flag and then defacing two NYPD vehicles.

Angelina Cando, a Manhattan woman aged between 30 and 35 years old, allegedly went on an alleged crime spree Monday morning. She is believed to have fled from a white vehicle parked near MacDougal Street around 1:30 AM. Cando then got into the car’s passenger seat and fled.

The fire did little damage to the exterior of the building but it did not cause any injuries. A single employee was in the restaurant at the time the fire started.

According to the employee, it was “To be part, to see it, and to work there and make that happen, as if this were my job.” This is where my money is, and I have a home to call home. I feel lost and confused. I don’t know where to turn.

Police claim that Cando’s crime spree didn’t end with the burning of the flag. This was less than one mile from Little Prince. It is unclear how she was connected to graffiti incidents.

Tuesday’s charges against Cando include criminal mischief and arson, as well as reckless endangerment. She was charged Tuesday with criminal mischief, arson, and reckless endangerment. This is her third arrest of the year.

The new pride flag was placed at the restaurant. The local landscaping company also repaired damage to the exterior of the building.

Erik Bottcher, a member of City Council District 3, stated that “our resolve can only be strengthened whenever acts such as these occur.” “We are standing up to hate and reaffirming pride in our community.” “We raised the flag again.”

Bottcher, a gay activist, has been active since at least 2009. Bottcher’s biography states that he is a member of the Progressive Caucus of the New York City Council as well as the LGBTQ+ Caucus.
