Fox News Reporter Interrupts Report on School Shooting to Reunite With Her Son

A Fox News reporter interrupted her live report about a school shooting in Denver to hug her son who attended the school.

Fox News reporter Alicia Acuna reported Wednesday from their Denver bureau about the school shooting at East High School. Acuna was with her stepsons and niece at East High School during the shooting. She went on air after verifying that all were safe.

She was able to see her son while she broadcast live from the school.

She said, “Excuse us, my son just came out, and I haven’t seen him.”

“Come on! “Come up!” Before hugging him, she said to him: “I’m sorry. I haven’t seen my child since this all went down.”

Acuna apologized for putting off her report. However, she was praised for the moment and received widespread support. Her colleagues were impressed by her ability to remain calm in such a stressful situation.

“Alicia Acuna is an absolute pro, even in the most horrific of situations. Garrett Tenney, Fox News national correspondent, said that she admires Acuna’s ability to remain calm in the face of every parent’s worst nightmare.

“Colleague and friend Alicia Acuna @aacuna1 did a remarkable report live from a shooting at her high school in Denver today. Here she is embracing her son. They are so happy to be safe. “I love you, Alicia,” said Brian Llenas, also from Fox News.

Two faculty members were wounded in the shooting, but no students were hurt. One victim was in critical condition, while the other was stable. The suspect is a black 17-year-old male, approximately 5-feet-5-inches in height and 150 lbs.

Mayor Michael Hancock stated, “We will find the suspect and hold him accountable for his actions.”
