Vivek Ramaswamy, a Republican presidential candidate who is anti-woke, told Breitbart that if he were elected president he would “shut down for good” federal agencies like the Department of Education and replace them with other entities such as the Federal Bureau of Investigation.
Ramaswamy revealed his 25-point policy platform “America First 2.0”, which he organized in five themes, via a Breitbart exclusive on Friday morning. The dismantling “Managerial Bureaucracy”, in the government, is one such focus.
Ramaswamy, who spoke with Breitbart on Friday in Manchester, during his ten county blitz through the Granite State, detailed his view of three types of federal agencies: those that should be closed down permanently, others which have legitimate functions but have become “so toxic,” must be closed down and rebuilt anew and a final category of agencies, which cannot be terminated, but require transformative reform.
Ramaswamy said: “There is the category which should never have existed, such as the Department of Education.” He continued to argue:
It’s not that I am anti-education, but because I am pro-education. U.S. Department of Education forces toxic ideologies on children through local schools by using funding as a kind of bribe. They’re even, we could have a lengthy discussion about this, tilting the balance to four-year majors in gender studies in California without any actual vocational training for those who want to become builders, welders, carpenters etc. The agencies in question should be abolished. These agencies need to be closed down.
“There are agencies that perform a necessary function, but their culture is toxic and bureaucracy so ossified, that the only solution left to them is to shut down, and to create something else to replace it. “I put the FBI into that category”, he continued.
Ramaswamy also claimed that the FBI had been “weaponized”, against both political parties:
It’s J. Edgar Hoover’s FBI. Amazingly, the J. Edgar Hoover Building is still the one that people enter at the FBI’s Washington DC headquarters. This has been weaponized by Democrats, Republicans and Republicans against each other. This shouldn’t be a partisan matter. This is a matter about restoring integrity to the administrative police state.
He noted that Hoover had “weaponized the FBI” against Dr. Martin Luther King in the civil rights movement during the 1960s.
Moreover, he identified Nuclear Regulatory Commission as another agency which must be demolished.
He said: “I’ve identified the Nuclear Regulatory Commission as an agency whose culture has a fundamentally hostile attitude towards nuclear energy.” “This is why we haven’t seen major advancements in nuclear energy.” The U.S. must lead in this field. It is the most sustainable, replenishable form of energy available to man. “The NRC is blocking the way.”
He also outlined the third group, including agencies such as the U.S. Federal Reserve that “you cannot shut down,” even though they need “dramatic reform.”
Ramaswamy said, “I’ve already stated that I would reduce the number of employees at the U.S. Fed to over 90% and return that agency to its proper place, so that they can focus on their original purpose, which is to stabilize the U.S. Dollar, and not the much broader mandate it has assumed, and in the process, caused a great deal of damage.”
But that gives you an idea of what I think. It’s not just a one trick pony. He said that “a career politician like Ron DeSantis will not get this done.”
It will take an outsider. “That’s what I bring to the table,” concluded he.
