Burn Bra Challenge Takes Over TikTok In Protest Of Nike’s Dylan Mulvaney Ads

TikTok has been used by many women to participate in the “Burn Bra Challenge” to get rid of their NIKE bras. The challenge was initiated after the sportswear giant hired Dylan Mulvaney, a transgender activist, to sell the bras and leggings.

According to the New York Post, a TikTok user claiming herself “chatterbox.mama” and describing herself as a “southern mom” posted her “Burn Bra Challenge”, in which she sets a NIKE women’s sports top ablaze while telling viewers she is sick and tired of the company pushing women around.

The woman told her 140,000+ followers, “All you real ladies out there – We are in the fight for all fights.”

She added, “Since 1960s, women have been fighting for their right to be female.” “Nike, you should be ashamed about yourself.”

“NIKE, you should be embarrassed of yourself. She said that she was done with her choice of a little boy who had no breasts and had some junk in his pants to portray real women.

She said, “I will never buy a Nike product as long as my life is.” “And there are millions, millions, and millions of women like me.”

Then, she challenged women to “burn their Nike bras… in solidarity with her and show how serious they are about being recognized.”

She said, concluding that “We are the queens. Your consumers hit you where its hurts and that’s right in YOUR pocket.” It’s a great evening to burn my Nike bras.

“They are pushing us around, and we’re not doing any about it!”

Then, she wore two bras to the outdoor pool.

Mulvaney’s latest endorsement controversy was triggered by a deal the sportswear giant made with Mulvaney, a blatantly non-athletic trans activist. She will be seen dancing in a NIKE bra and leggings on May 5.

Mulvaney also shared the following message on Instagram: “Home for a minute and leaning into cozy, workout-wear life with @nikewomen’s new Zenvy leggings. These are so soft and comfortable, they’re perfect for everyday wear and workouts! #feelyourall #teamnike #nikepartner.”

Mulvaney’s collaboration with NIKE prompted many to criticize it. Caitlyn Jenner (ex-Olympian), Riley Gaines (college swimming champion), and Sharon Davies (legendary British athlete) were some of the many critics. Megyn Kelly is a TV host and podcast host.

Mulvaney was just Mulvaney’s second stint as a corporate spokesperson after raising similar boycott calls when his company began selling Bud Light beer.
