A man was shot and killed at a Tesla charging station in Denver after an armed man was reportedly maced by the alleged shooter, who later opened fire.
ABC Denver 7 reported that a man was shot at around 9:40 am on May 3, 2023, in the Edgewater Public Market near a Shake Shack.
Edgewater Police Sergeant Bob Brink told a local outlet that the victim had been armed when he approached the shooter’s vehicle.
The report states that the shooter called 911 after mutilating his victim (33 years old) and opened fire.
The police spoke with witnesses and determined that the dispute was over a parking space for a charging station. They said one party owned the vehicle, and the other rented the vehicle.
The investigators interviewed witnesses on the scene.

According to Fox affiliate WFIN, who spoke to the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office about the shooting incident, the 38-year-old shooter has been detained.
Jenny Fulton from the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office said that the shooting is being investigated as a murder.
A police spokesperson did not specify if both shooters fired shots.
Authorities have not confirmed if the shooter was a Tesla driver and do not know the reason for the shooting.
Bayan Wang, a reporter on the scene. ABC 7 Denver reported at least six Teslas behind the caution tape. On the ground was a red sweater that belonged to the victim. A firearm was also found.
