Russia Issues Lindsey Graham Arrest Warrant After Ukraine Comments

Published on

The Russian Interior Ministry issued a warrant on Monday for Graham’s detention in response to a video edited by Zelenskyy’s office, in which Graham praised U.S. assistance for Ukraine’s defense while noting that Russians die as Ukraine fights for freedom.

Graham said in the video that “the Russians were dying” and called the U.S. assistance to the country “the best money we have ever spent.” ”

Although Graham’s remarks appeared to be made at different points in the conversation, a short video released by the Ukrainian presidential office placed them right next to one another, which caused outrage in Russia.

According to Associated Press, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said that it was “hard to imagine a worse shame for this country than to have such senators.”

The Russian Investigative Committee opened a criminal case against Graham, and the Interior Ministry issued a warrant to arrest him.

Graham views the arrest warrant as a “Badge of Honor”. ”

“To be able to say that my support for Ukraine has brought Putin’s regime to its knees is a great joy to me. Until every Russian soldier leaves Ukrainian territory, I will stand by and fight for Ukraine’s liberation,” Graham said Monday in a press release.

“Finally here is an offer to my Russian “friends” who want to arrest me and try for calling out the Putin Regime as war criminals. I will submit to the jurisdiction of the International Criminal Court, if you do,” added he. ”

Russian forces bombarded Kyiv, the Ukrainian capital, with “Kamikaze drone attacks” Saturday night just as the city was preparing to celebrate its anniversary of founding on Sunday.

According to Ukrainian officials, Russia launched 54 drones made by Iran at Kyiv, and other parts of Ukraine. Air defenses destroyed 52 of them. The attack on Saturday night killed two people, one of whom was a 41-year old man, and the second person died of an unspecified cause.

Ukraine’s Patriot missile system has proved to be more than capable of stopping long-range Russian attacks. The vast majority of the explosives were shot down in mid-flight.
