As the GOP primary campaign for 2024 gets underway, many candidates are announcing their endorsements. The candidates do this in order to demonstrate to voters that they have the support of prominent Republican figures.
That said, some, like former New Jersey Gov. and failed 2016 presidential candidate Chris Christie, are getting the kind of unintentional “endorsements” of sorts that most self-respecting Republicans don’t want, like the praise Christie received from Washington Post “NeverTrump” columnist Jennifer Rubin, unhinged “The View” co-host Joy Behar, and radical leftist Congressman Ted Lieu (D-Calif.) upon Christie’s official entry into the race.
Some high-profile people, like Florida Governor Ron DeSantis, mock and ridicule him. This tactic can be used not only to gain support from their base but also from undecided votes.
The “Tony Awards” on CBS Sunday night demonstrated this. Broadway actress Denee Benton awarded the Carnegie Mellon University Excellence in Theatre Education Award (CMU) to Florida high school drama teacher and director Jason Zembuch Young.
Benton made herself more visible during her speech than Young by calling DeSantis a “grand wizard” while asking him to change the name of “Plantation”.
Denee Benton, an actor, is a proud CMU graduate. CMU presented the 2023 Excellence in Theatre Education Award. The award was presented to Jason Zembuch Young, who has transformed the lives of the students at South Plantation High School in Plantation.

The DeSantis Derangement Syndrome contingent was very pleased.
Denée Benton took aim at Ron DeSantis’ anti-Black legislation during the same ceremony that saw two Black actors become the first non-binary people to win Tony Awards. https://t.co/J0GeYOLbTH

Jonathan Goldman is a TV producer who said: “Denee Benton might have saved America.” I don’t know how to get rid of the nickname “The Grand Wizard Of Florida”.
LOL. Goldman, do you think Benton’s remarks are going to convince voters to switch parties? It’s probably true, but it isn’t his fault.
DeSantis’ rabid critics at Woke, Inc., a Democrat/media company he deflated and turned the tables on during his time as Sunshine State Governor, are the best “endorsement” I can imagine for him.
DeSantis will gain more popularity the more his critics on the left intensify their false attacks. The majority of voters are tired of being called racists. It is similar to how Donald Trump was treated after his indictment. The DOJ Biden’s efforts to interfere in elections are a major failure.
Sorry, not sorry, leftists, but the “standards” you’ve been operating off of for decades when it comes to Republican presidential candidates (“this guy will be the most racist/sexist/bigoted/oppressive president EVER! He will! No, really.
Time to come up with a new schtick, Democrats. Or not.
