Fox News ratings have suffered a significant drop since they abruptly parted ways with Tucker Carlson. In the last few weeks, the ongoing dispute between Fox News and their (former biggest) draw has played out on social media sites and news websites. Both sides have accused the other of breaching the contract.
Fox stepped up the pressure on Monday morning by sending Carlson a letter of “cease-and-desist” demanding he stops taking his show onto Twitter. The Fox executives are well aware that “Tucker On Twitter” is a strong start.
Carlson has two episodes of the streaming series and, between them, he’s racked up nearly 170 million views. Fox News, however, maintains that Carlson is still under contract and the show is in violation of the terms. The company has now taken a more direct approach and sent a letter to him demanding that he cease producing the show.
Carlson’s contract, although not publicly available, seems to be interpreted in a different way by the two parties. Fox News insists that Carlson is still employed and paid by them, so his comments are essentially theirs. He claims that Fox News is the one who has broken their contract and, because of this, “YOLO.”
Harmeet Chillon, Carlson’s friend, and lawyer, was quoted in the article above by Joe Cunningham as accusing the network of “ignoring its viewer interests, let alone its shareholder obligations.”
Dhillon who challenged Ronna McDaniel to be the RNC chair, explained in a Twitter thread:
My friend and client @TuckerCarlson will not be silenced — by the far left or by Fox News. Scoop: Fox sends Tucker Carlson cease-and-desist letter https://t.co/1vUCMoQXOa

Dhillon tweeted: “My client and friend @TuckerCarlson won’t be silenced – by the far right or Fox News.” She then added that Fox News has now become a no-go zone for her, given their recent tactics.
Here’s why. I am passionately dedicated to the free speech and free flow of information that is necessary for a democratic society. Fox is not for me until they stop trying to silence Tucker. I also feel bad for my friends who work at the network, which has obviously caved in to pressure from some quarters to silence @TuckerCarlson. You are watching a censored news version on Fox. Remember this when you choose what to watch and comment on.
Dhillon then reminded Republicans, to emphasize her point, of the dangers of being reliant on a media outlet that seems to be more interested in squelching free speech than promoting it.
