Walt Nauta was indicted in the Trump classified document case on Thursday. He worked as a valet for the White House and then moved to Mar-a-Lago in order to continue to work for Donald Trump. The Wall Street Journal was the first to report on the indictment.
The Wall Street Journal reported that Nauta was a focal point of the investigation for a long time. He had been seen in surveillance footage moving boxes out of a storage area before and after investigators served a subpoena to Trump seeking all documents held by him. Natua said that he acted at Trump’s direction.
Investigators questioned Nauta more than twice, primarily to clarify statements that prosecutors deemed contradictory. The Journal reported that he refused to answer any further questions because he was concerned about charges being considered against him.
A Nauta attorney declined to comment on the charges in the WSJ.
Trump wrote that he had acknowledged the allegations on Truth Social.
I just learned that “Thugs” of the Department of Injustice are going to indict Walt Nauta. Walt was a U.S. Navy member who proudly served with me at the White House. He retired as Senior chief and then moved into the private sector as a personal assistant. He’s done an amazing job! They want to ruin his life like so many other lives, in the hope that he’ll say negative things about Trump. He is a strong, brave, and a Great Patriot. The FBI and DOJ are CORRUPT.
