Joe Biden’s Meeting With Bibi Netanyahu Got Real Weird Real Quick

Joe Biden, who spent the first few years of his presidential term slamming Bibi Netanyahu, decided to finally meet the Israeli Prime Minster on Wednesday. Things didn’t last long before getting weird.

The two men sat down for a joint “presser” in which no questions were taken, though Biden did reportedly make time to trash the very media outlets who consistently shine his shoes.

In his prepared remarks, the U.S. President pledged to bring up “hard issues” in his meeting with Netanyahu. This is code for a softening of Palestinian terrorism. Biden also voiced opposition to Israel’s push for judicial Reform, which has caused consternation among the left in Israel.

It is important to note that there is no comparison at all between the U.S. Supreme Court and the High Court in Israel. The latter is based on essentially nothing, as the nation does not have a written constitution. Judges in Israel are free to make any decision they want. Netanyahu has tried to change this so that fundamental principles can be protected. Biden is not a fan of that idea.

It was not just that. It all started at the beginning when Biden made the sign of the cross as Netanyahu began to speak.

This can be viewed in many different ways. Biden’s decision to make the sign of the cross during a Jewish Prime Minister’s speech is most evident. Look, although I am a Christian, I understand the historical issues involved in this case, such as genocide, oppression, and so on. In a private setting, it’s fine to discuss your faith with a Jew. Then there’s the act of mocking them by doing the sign-of-the-cross randomly as they speak in public.

You can’t deny that this would be seen as anti-Semitic if it was done by a Republican. You can also bet that the ADL will go crazy. Jonathan Greenblatt would not be able to open his Twitter app fast enough to make a scathing denunciation.
