CPAC’s Embrace of Robert F. Kennedy Jr. Raises Questions

According to a press release, Robert F. Kennedy Jr., and Vivek Ramaswamy, two presidential candidates, will be speaking at the Investor Summit Save America of the Conservative Political Action Conference, scheduled to take place on October 18th in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Robert F. Kennedy Jr. is a voice that stands out in his advocacy for defunding the weaponized bureaucracy and ensuring constitutional rights to medical freedom. Kennedy’s participation in such an important event reflects the split of the left-wing alliance that has become so Marxist that traditional liberals no longer feel welcome. The left-wing coalition’s breakup is happening while the conservative coalition hopes to add more blacks, Hispanics, and women who reject gender insanity and reject the effects of a terrible economy and the destruction of their once safer communities,” Matt Schlapp said in a press release.

Schlapp added, “We’re also proud to have Vivek Ramaswamy– a patriot who is a rising star and fights for the freedom and life of every American. Ramaswamy’s impact on the political stage has been massive in a very short time. He is a businessman who is ready to fight for the corporate agenda. Ramaswamy is continuing to send out a powerful message about the importance of a great revival in America, the struggle against Communist China, illegal migration, calling out big tech and censorship and holding far-left establishments and the political system accountable.”

Kennedy will reportedly announce his independent bid for president after feeling excluded from the Democratic National Committee during their primary. Kennedy’s attendance at CPAC is a sign of this. Many people think that Kennedy’s Independent bid against Joe Biden could be disastrous (I thought the same at one time), but the 2024 election will likely be decided by a few votes in a few states. There’s no reason for Kennedy to not take more votes than Joe Biden, who is presumed to be the Democrat nominee.

Kennedy believes he will “take much more votes from Trump than I take from Biden,” which may be true. Despite polling in double digits for Democrats in primary polls, his approval rating among Democrats is -5. His approval rating among Republicans is +28.

Kennedy’s participation in a CPAC event is absurd from my perspective. There’s no way to know if Kennedy would not take votes away from Trump. Kennedy is not as crazy as some Democrats, but his candidacy still threatens the Republican Party’s chances of winning the White House back in 2024. His participation in a CPAC Summit can only increase his standing among conservatives while damaging his standing with liberals.

What is Matt Schlapp thinking?
