The House Judiciary Committee finally threw down the gauntlet on Tuesday in its investigation of the DOJ’s alleged protection of Hunter Biden. Lesley Wolf, a name many will recognize if they’ve been following this saga, has been subpoenaed.
Fox News reviewed the subpoena and found that Wolf would be required to appear at Capitol Hill to answer questions on December 7th.
Fox News Digital learned that Republicans on the House Judiciary Committee issued a subpoena to a top Justice Department investigator Hunter Biden, who had allegedly attempted to shield President Biden against certain questions, inquiries, and search warrants relating to the investigation.
According to the subpoena that Fox News Digital reviewed on Tuesday, Assistant U.S. Attorney Lesley Wolf was ordered to appear in front of the committee on December 7 at 10 am. The Rayburn House Office Building, Washington, D.C., is located at ET.
Wolf is at the heart of the alleged efforts to shield Hunter Biden. Gary Shapley, a whistleblower who testified about the IRS investigation of the president’s child, said that this included scuttling it.
Wolf was the one who told IRS investigators to stop when they requested interviews with Hunter Biden’s adult children. Wolf also stopped a search warrant attempt that would have revealed more evidence. Wolf also told the IRS they couldn’t investigate mentions of “Big Guy,” an assumed nickname for Joe Biden in important emails.
Shapley was reported as having asked the prosecutor if the “juice” was worth the squeeze when she pushed for a search warrant. This statement suggests that politics heavily influenced her decision.
But the problems with Wolf are much more serious. She also forwarded to David Weiss a false article from The New York Times, who is currently the special counsel who is investigating Hunter Biden. The story was based on a falsehood claiming that Rudy Guiliani had authored the now infamous FD-1023 document that alleges bribery by Joe Biden. She was also involved in the abrupt end of the allegations that Hunter Biden had violated the Mann Act, by transporting prostitutes between states.
Wolf has been viewed as the fixer for the Bidens in the DOJ. She’ll now have to explain herself under oath. Will be interesting to hear how she answers pointed questions about her behavior. She’ll have been rehearsed for sure, but it is possible that she will make a mistake. Subpoenaing her in either case is the correct decision. Republicans must not relent in their pressure.
