Will Congress Finally Fix America’s Broken Immigration System? 🇺🇸

Published on

Congress may be considering changes to our immigration policy. Since January 2021, the southern border has become a major issue. The time has come for Congress to act, but it is unclear what changes in policy will be made with the Senate still controlled by pro-open border Democrats. At least, there’s a movement underway.

Republicans claim that the record number of migrants who cross the southern border poses a threat to security because the authorities are unable to adequately screen them all and those who enter into the United States put a strain on the resources of the country. GOP lawmakers say that they can’t justify sending billions of dollars to other countries in times of war while neglecting the border here.

Many immigration advocates, such as some Democrats, claim that some of the proposed changes would gut protections to people who desperately need assistance and would not ease the chaos at the border.

Many of the negotiations are taking place behind closed doors, but certain issues that are being discussed, such as asylum standards, humanitarian parole, and the authority to deport people quickly, have been made public.

Note the claim by “some Democrats” claiming that certain changes will “gut protections for those who desperately need assistance.” Consider that for a minute.

But ignore the near-hysterical tone of this remark. That’s typical of Democrats, and politicians in general. Consider it for what it is and ask: Why does the United States always have to help each bedraggled refugee? Why are our borders always open to everyone and anyone, and why are our taxpayers on the hook and our cities’ resources overwhelmed by this influx of people? Why should it be the people of our country who have to deal with all the negative effects that come from this unchecked, open influx?

Take a look at how much these illegal immigrants cost the taxpayers.

The Post obtained a report from House Republicans that said Americans could spend up to $451 Billion to provide care to migrants who have entered the US illegally but were released or escaped custody.

The House Homeland Security Committee’s interim staff report says: “Every day, millions of dollars of American taxpayer money are spent directly on illegal immigration costs and the unprecedented crisis along the Southwest border caused by the policies of Department of Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas.”

You can also read this as “welfare” and the taxpayers will be on the hook.

According to the Center for Immigration Studies, the bill for housing and care for migrants who are apprehended and “getaways”, and have been in the US since at least 2021 could be as high as $451 billion annually.

It’s a simple choice: Either you have a welfare state or a liberal immigration program. It’s impossible to have both. Both are unacceptable.

We know very little about them, except that they are mostly young men of military age. Not only do we not know who these people are, but also why they’re here and what they plan to do. This is not just an immigration issue, but also a matter of national security.

Why does the rest of the world always expect the United States to absorb the influx?

Nowadays, it’s a popular shibboleth that a nation without borders is a non-country. It’s common because it’s accurate. The Biden administration seems to be determined to prove this.

It seems reasonable.
