Chiefs’ Chilling Tragedy: Frozen Fate Strikes 3 Devoted Fans Outside Friend’s Home, Unaware of Grim Demise

According to his lawyer, a Kansas City, Missouri homeowner who had three frozen bodies found in his yard two days after the group gathered in his yard to watch a Kansas City Chiefs match “did not know” that tragedy was unfolding earlier in this month in his backyard.

Fox News Digital reported that the Kansas City Police Department does not suspect foul play as a cause of death for Ricky Johnson (38), Clayton McGeeney (36), and David Harrington (37).

The three men were allegedly gathered with friends and family to watch a game between the Los Angeles Chargers and the Kansas City Chiefs at a friend’s house on Jan. 7, 2007.

Kansas City Police Department reported that the bodies of three men were discovered on Jan. 9, at 9:51 pm, after a man’s fiancée requested a welfare inspection. The bodies of three men were discovered in the backyard and on the porch of a home located on the 5200 NW 83rd Terrace.

They had frozen to death.

Captain Jake Becchina, of the Kansas City Police Department, stated that this case was not being investigated as a homicide.

No one has been arrested or charged. Becchina stated that there are currently no threats or concerns to the community. The residents of the house cooperated with the detectives on the day that the bodies were discovered.

The cause of death is not known. Becchina stated that toxicology reports would be available in the next few weeks.

Suzanne Reichart, a neighbor, said that she was unaware of the danger facing the three men across the street.

It’s scary because I didn’t hear anything. “I’m usually at home, but I heard nothing,” said Reichart.

It’s a little disturbing. Reichart said, “It makes you wonder what is going on.” If we haven’t found out yet, was it CO? “It got very cold.”

Families and friends of three football fans took to social media to demand answers and to question the motives of the homeowner. We chose not to identify the homeowner because criminal charges had not been filed.

They claim to have sent the homeowner several messages in the days leading up to the police call.

Kaylee la Tier wrote on Facebook earlier this month: “This man was alive inside his house while my friends had been dead in his backyard for Lord knows how long.” “They had all been hanging around since Sunday, after the game. He knew people were searching for them. “He read the messages left by people looking for him Tuesday.”

La Tier continued, “My husband banged his door for [20] minutes.” “My friend broke a window, yelled at him, and told him she was inside while he was still not responding.” When the police arrive 10 [minutes] after, he appears nonchalantly in his boxers and with an empty glass of wine in hand. It’s all a lie. “Dave, Clay, and Ricky deserve justice.”

John Picerno said that his client did not know his friends had died until the police came to his door.

Picerno said in a press release that Picerno had no idea that the animals were still in his backyard, or that they required medical attention.

The attorney also claims that his client was sleeping with headphones on and a loud air-conditioner while the two men were looking for them at his home. The attorney admitted that the wife of one of the men contacted him on Facebook Messenger but said the homeowner didn’t see the message until the police got in touch.

Picerno stated that it was not unusual for Picerno’s friends to leave their cars overnight on the street in front of his home.

Picerno, a reporter for The Kansas City Star, said that “[the homeowner] does not know how his friends passed away.” “Like us, [the owner] is anxiously waiting for the results of autopsy and toxicology reports… We wish to extend our deepest sympathy to the family and friends of these young men and send our prayers to them.”
