CNN Reporter’s Unprecedented Display of Adoration in Kamala Harris Interview, ‘Struck Just Being in Your Presence’

Press bias is not a recent revelation. There have been many embarrassing and sycophantic moments in the past between journalists and Democrat politicians. Some moments stand out more than others, but Laura Coates from CNN just submitted her nomination for one of the worst.

Coates, in an amazing exchange, appeared to be choked up while she lavished praises on Kamala Harris. She says “I am struck by your presence”, provoking the vice president into claiming that it is because Harris is a woman.

COATES: Just by your presence I am struck. I watched you on the stage, the reactions of the crowd and you displaying passion and speaking about so many issues. Yet, you hear some candidates suggest that voting for President Biden due to his age, is somehow a voter for you. This is meant as an insult. This is meant to show a negative view of you. What’s your reaction when you hear that, based on your career and your particular background, some think that you lack the ability?

Stop this reporter. What is it about Harris’ background that makes you so shocked? It is a woman whose political career started in a supposedly questionable way. She was then rewarded for favoritism and landed a position as Attorney General of California. Was she successful in her job? As a U.S. Senator, she was even worse. She was worse as a Senator. She became nothing more than an ordinary backbencher.

Her lack of a notable record, coupled with her pure ambition, led her to decide to run for President in 2019. I say 2019, not 2020 because even though she had a strong lead early in the race, plenty of donors, and an extensive media apparatus at her side, she didn’t make it through to the election year. What exactly is it about Harris’ “background and career” that makes Coates so upset?

The frame is meant to convey the idea that bigotry is the only thing that could make someone question the vice president’s abilities. Harris was happy to do so in the most awkward way possible.

HARRIS: I believe that many women who have been successful in their careers, and who are in positions of leadership, have experienced similar things. I was elected as the first female district attorney in California. I was also the first woman elected to the position of Attorney General. I am the first woman to hold the office of vice president.

(long pause)

…and my job is great (cackles).

It seems like she has run out of things to talk about at the end of that clip. Regardless, I assure her that her gender has nothing to do with the opposition she faces to her leadership or personality. Her inability to be a good public speaker and perform her job well is the main reason for her opposition. Even the wife of the president can’t stand this woman.

Coates might want to be a bit more professional because the interview was embarrassing. It’s no wonder CNN cannot even beat out what they call The History Channel these days.
