Tennessee Pro-Life Advocates Hit with Shocking Convictions, Staring Down 10+ Years in Unprecedented Legal Battle

My mother used to say, “If men were able to get pregnant, then abortion would be a sacred act.” A quick look at the media and the protestors on the left shows that abortion is almost a sacrament for a certain segment of the population. Ironically, it was a group consisting of nine white men who created the first articles of faith that established this religion.

Unfortunately, it’s a well-known fact that leftist protestors are capable of looting, pillaging, and burning, but their actions will either be ignored or rationalized. In some cases, the rioters are reimbursed. The right does not enjoy immunity.

Six pro-life activists have been convicted of violating the Freedom of Access to Clinic Entrances Act (FACE) on Tuesday. Life Site News reported that Chester Gallagher, of Lebanon, Tenn.; Heather Idoni, Calvin Zastrow, of Michigan; Coleman Boyd, of Bolton Miss.; and Dennis Green, of Cumberland Va. were among the six pro-life activists convicted on Tuesday in Nashville. Caroline Davis, another participant, pleaded to her charges last October. Davis agreed to testify and cooperate with the Government against her co-defendants. The sentencing date is July. The defendants could face a $260,000 fine and up to 10.5 years in prison.

The incident took place at the Carafem Health Center Clinic, located in Mount. Joliet, Tenn. Note: The center ceased to provide abortions one year and a quarter later after anti-abortion laws were passed by the Tennessee state legislature. Although the charges against the federal government sound serious, the incident involved a group of people who entered a hallway and sang hymns while praying. Some people sat at the door to block access to the clinic. All accounts agree that it was a “mostly pacifist protest.” (Irony intended.)

Technically, they did block doors and prevent access. They could face prison and fines for this, rather than a wink, a nod, or even a payment if they had smashed windows and set fires. The defendants will be charged with “conspiracy against the rights”. The Daily Wire was told by a man named Matthew:

It was a big shock for me. This just shows me how the government will use anything to manipulate us. A church gathering is now a conspiracy. A group of friends has now been branded a conspiracy. Where are the convictions of those who block the interstates and the roads and prevent people from reaching their jobs or hospitals? They are not convicting these people. They don’t care about it. They are concerned about Christians in a hall.

To be honest, this was not a meeting of church members or friends. Matthew’s main point cannot be ignored. Nothing was damaged and no one was injured. The verdicts were probably predetermined. There are two paths to justice in America in the 21st Century: one for conservatives and another for progressives. The two will never meet.

Nashville’s decisions are more than just a decision against pro-lifers. This episode serves as a reminder that, in America’s current form, people who cross the line to promote the wrong values can expect punishment.
