Tragic Holiday Bloodshed: Shocking Massacre Claims Lives of 200 Christians in Nigeria

The violent Islamic jihadis of Nigeria’s Plateau State have made Christmas for Christians a miserable experience.

The Catholic News Agency reported that on December 27, “198 Christians were killed in a terror attack in 26 Christian Communities in Plateau”. The devastating attacks started on the night of December 23, and the slaughter continued through Christmas Day. Bishop Matthew Kukah of Nigeria’s Sokoto diocese reportedly mourned, “Nigerians have almost lost hope” that “a government can really and truly care for them,” or that “our politicians will put our interests first and find a way to deal with the cancer of corruption.”

CNA obtained photos showing Christians being buried in mass graves.

Nigeria is the most deadly nation for Christians worldwide. Between July 2009 and July 2020, approximately 60,000 Christians have been murdered for their faith. International Christian Concern, Persecution.org’s 2023 report on the worst Christian persecutors in the world, estimates that an additional 10,000,000 Christians have been displaced. Nigeria ranked first.

Robert Spencer on JihadWatch observed that the West doesn’t care about African Christians or Christians who are persecuted.

CNA:

In a press release released Tuesday, Plateau governor Caleb Mutfwang said that the attacks were “well coordinated” and carried out using “heavy weapons.”

Bishop Matthew Kukah of the Sokoto Diocese in northern Nigeria called on Bola Tinubu to immediately take action to protect Nigerians. “You won’t be forgiven by God nor Nigerians if you fail,” he told Bola Tinubu.

Pray for Nigerian Christians this year. Muslim terrorists are using brutal methods to eliminate Christianity in Nigeria. A powerful movement is needed in America to help persecuted Christians.
