After months of credible allegations, several members of UNRWA (a subsidiary of the United Nations) have been directly implicated by Hamas in the attacks of October 7th.
UNRWA, a Hamas ally in Gaza for many years, has taught genocidal Antisemitism to its students or turned a blind eye to aid used to fund terrorist activities. In the days following October 7th, it was revealed that at least one UNRWA employee had held an Israeli hostage in his attic. Many other UNRWA employees have also been exposed.
Breaking, from UNRWA:
“The Israeli Authorities have provided UNRWA with information about the alleged involvement of several UNRWA employees in the horrific attacks on Israel on 7 October.
“To protect the Agency’s ability to deliver humanitarian assistance, I have taken the…

The U.S. State Department immediately froze funding for the UNRWA. This is a dramatic change from the recent direct defense of UNRWA by the administration.

In response to the latest revelations, Secretary Blinken contacted and requested that the Secretary General of the United Nations conduct a thorough and swift investigation into its agency.
Wow. The State Department “has temporarily paused additional funding” to UNRWA amid allegations that 12 of the UN agency’s employees were involved in the Hamas attack, per States spokesman Matt Miller. “Secretary of State Antony J. Blinken spoke with United Nations Secretary…

It’s like asking a fox to find out who has stolen the hens. UNRWA, a terrible organization that provides direct aid and comfort to Hamas, is a horrible organization. A UNRWA spokesman appeared on CNN in early December and deflected repeatedly when confronted with evidence of misfeasance.
CNN: A survivor of Hamas captivity said he was held hostage by an UNRWA teacher. What’s UNRWA’s response?
UNRWA: I can speak about the flour that UNRWA delivers.
CNN: Does it bother you that an UNRWA teacher held somebody hostage?
UNRWA: Every bag of flour is cross-referenced. pic.twitter.com/pN4MlIvJGF

UNRWA issued a long statement on December 1st demanding that anyone who accused it of aiding Hamas produce evidence. Now that they have their proof, it’s no surprise the leadership pretends to be unaware of what is happening. Nobody should believe it.
The United Nations cannot be redeemed. The United States has no reason to continue its support. It should be kicked out of New York, and not given another dollar. But I am sure that the UNRWA funding freeze will only last a short time. The United Nations will not take responsibility for the events that occurred.
Once the war is over, UNRWA and any other UN entity should not be present in Gaza. Israel must make this clear. It would be a self-destructive act to allow the proliferation of terrorists under the guise of “refugee assistance”. It is a shame that Israel can’t rely on the United States on this front.
