Disney faces a civil rights lawsuit alleging that it discriminated against a variety of racial and religious groups, as well as sexual minorities.

America First Legal (AFL), announced this week that it would be filing a lawsuit against the Walt Disney Company, for violating Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1965 through several illegal and racist practices.

The organization’s press statement:

Disney is prohibited by law from using race or color, religion, national origin, or sex as a sole motivating factor in hiring, training, or promotion. A document on Disney’s website “Reimagine Tomorrow”, however, strongly suggests that race color religion sex, or nationality are often the sole motivating factors in Disney’s decisions regarding hiring, training, and promotions. The document also indicates that Disney intentionally discriminates against white American Christian men and Jews because of their race and citizenship.

The lawsuit will list numerous examples of Disney’s discriminatory practices, such as its Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion program (DEI), which mandates that 50 percent of jobs be filled by people from “underrepresented” groups.

AFL was founded in part by Stephen Miller, a former Trump advisor who filed the lawsuit and said that it was “sad” and “tragic” that Disney had become a political institution so divisive.

Disney seems to be engaging in widespread, illegal, and pervasive race and gender discrimination, in violation of the 1964 Civil Rights Act. We have therefore filed a formal complaint at the EEOC alleging that Disney has engaged in illegal behavior. It is tragic and sad that a company, whose name once stood for wholesome and charming fantasies of childhood, is now committed to spreading bigotry. We call on Disney to immediately cease its illegal and destructive behavior.

The strength of the complaint has yet to be determined, but the lawsuit is another headache for Disney’s CEO Bob Iger. He is leading efforts to reverse the company’s fortunes and mitigate damage caused by the former CEO Bob Chapek’s commitment to engage the company in leftist and progressive activism.

Disney faces many other legal issues. Last week, former The Mandalorian star Gina Carano, with the support of billionaire Elon Musk, filed a similar lawsuit against Disney for wrongful termination.

Disney, according to court documents “targeted Carano, harassed her, humiliated her publicly, defamed her, and went to great extents to destroy Carano’s career” following a tweet she sent invoking political persecution of Jews during the Holocaust.

Her lawyer said that Disney bullied Ms Carano and tried to force her into conforming to their views on cultural and political issues. When this bullying failed, Disney fired her. California law prohibits punishing employees who express their views on social or political issues.
