In the America of Old Joe Biden, you cannot celebrate the outdoors, or do anything else, unless, that is, you are willing to burn incense before the gods of the left. If you think your activities have nothing to do with deviance, delusion, and perversity as the left sees them, think again. You either play along, or you don’t.
This is how authoritarian regimes work. If you think Old Joe’s regime respects the principles of a democratic society and does not follow these rules, then you haven’t paid attention. Even the revered guide to the world’s wonders, National Geographic has gotten on board.
National Geographic, a venerable publication that has been around for 136 years, took a giant step forward into the Brave New World by adding a drag queen with a mustache named Wyn Wylie to its list of Travelers of the Year. As Mark Tapson pointed out at FrontPage in 2017, the magazine featured a boy aged nine who was claiming to be a woman on the cover of a story about the “Gender Revolution”.
National Review reported on Thursday that Wyn Wylie/Pattie Gonia described himself as “an intersectional environmentalist and drag queen who advocates for inclusivity in nature.” Wylie has more than 600,000 followers on social media and is celebrated by National Geographic as a hero.
We see this again: those who claim marginalization and that they are victims of racism or bigotry have real power today. The people who are marginalized are those who are accused of marginalizing the powerful.
It’s not that a homophobic Bull Connor has German Shepherds ready to attack if a drag queen decides to hike on a trail. Drag queens, and their friends, are more interested in indoor activities (like grooming children). It’s their choice if they are “underrepresented” outside.
Pattie Gonia, a valiant woman, is fighting back against the imaginary marginalization of women and has been hailed by many corporate entities, not just National Geographic. He made a video last year for North Face’s “Summer of Pride” campaign.
Wylie is dressed in a tie-dyed rainbow miniskirt and a belt from the North Face. She swings in the style of a sixties hippie cover girl, and announces, “Hi! I’m Pattie Gonia. A real-life gay.” “We are inviting you to join us in the nature!” What does being gay, or even heterosexual, have to do with enjoying nature? The answer is in the way one chooses to enjoy it.
Wylie, on the other hand, is a doctrinaire socialist who views his dedication to the outdoors in the context of his efforts to promote the entire leftist agenda. He is the co-founder of The Outdoorist Oath. This non-profit is dedicated to “action-based commitment for inclusion and adventure.”
This group requires that you take an oath affirming that “systemic racism is real” and that discrimination and hatred are what marginalizes people. The “Stretch Sessions,” according to the organization, will “challenge you and make you critically think about the role White Supremacy has in your outdoor experience, whether you’re BIPOC or white.”
Oh, come now. Now “white supremacy” – which is nowhere to be found but that leftists perceive everywhere – interferes with “people of color’s” ability to enjoy nature. Will Whitey ever stop? It is not surprising that, amid this nonsense and despite National Review’s report, Outdoorist Oath recently “issued an official statement supporting Palestine and calling for a truce.”
This statement states that “the work that Outdoorist Oath does would not be necessary if colonization and imperialism ….We are all connected.” We cannot look beyond the borders of our country without understanding this. The struggle for liberation of the planet and its people are the same.” Yeah and what about 1,200 Israelis murdered? All for the cause!
You’ll be surprised to learn who owns National Geographic. That’s right: Disney.
