Michael Kinsley, maybe 30 years back, wrote that a gaffe was when a politician said something obvious he wasn’t supposed say. Imagine the EV-addict Presidentish Joe Biden promising in 2021, “We’re still going to fight to make sure the American people pay their fair share of gas.” Or Speaker Nancy Pelosi using every trick to get ObamaCare passed through the House and saying in 2009, “We must pass the bill to find out what it contains.”
On Wednesday night, Chris Hayes, MSNBC’s Chris Hayes, spoke to Sen. Chris Murphy, D-Conn., about the Americans who Democrats “care most about.”
You’ll get a hint from me: they’re not.
Murphy and Hayes spoke about the ongoing suffering of “undocumented Americans”, after scumbag Republican senators torpedoed an bill that would’ve given Democrats almost everything they wanted, while giving Republicans virtually nothing. The bill would have set a high ceiling, not a floor, on the number illegal aliens allowed to enter our nonexistent southern borders on their journey to become undocumented Americans.
In previous immigration reform bills, Democrats and Republicans fought it out to the death. Democrats would gain a pathway to citizenship for illegals who were already in the United States, while Republicans could pretend that they had improved border security.
Murphy, however, said this was not the case. Hayes was told that “this is no longer 2013”. “When we performed that play back in the day, a few hundred people showed up each day to apply for asylum. On some days there are up to 8,000. The reality is that most of the country doesn’t think this is right or sustainable, and they want us to change reality at the border.
So far, so good, right?
Not really. Murphy accurately nailed the mood in the country – poll after poll shows Biden’s border turmoil is a real worry – but before that he revealed who Washington Democrats are really concerned about.
“Well, Chris, it’s been 20 years since that play has failed,” in regards to immigration reform. “You are correct that this has been the Democratic Strategy for maybe 30 years and it has failed for the people that we care most about, the undocumented Americans in this country.”
The emphasis is mine because I couldn’t resist.
In party politics, I would also add that a member of a particular party is more concerned about their favorite voters than the welfare and well-being of the entire country. Consider that for a minute.
If you can believe it, things get worse. Murphy continued:
This bill contained some important provisions for migrants, such as a right to be represented, earlier work permits, and the largest expansion of visas since 30 years. This is not a path to citizenship but it’s something that people who care about migrants will appreciate. All of this was a waste because Republicans were just unable to fix the problem because it has been a perennial election issue for them.
Be sure to note the subtle trickery barely visible. Biden crossed the border in order to bring what he hopes are millions of new Democrat voters. Biden is unable to fix the problem because of evil Republicans. This move has been repeated in the last few weeks. You should still watch how the Democrats use their joker.

Mitch McConnell, a Republican Senator, allegedly gave everything to these guys.
