The Mandalorian’ Star Gina Carano Fires Back at Disney with Explosive Lawsuit

Gina Carano announced today that she would be suing Disney. She is a former Star Wars actor and the star of “The Mandalorian”. Disney, the parent company of Lucasfilm that produces the Star Wars series, is the defendant in this lawsuit.

Carano is one of the most notable victims of cancellation culture. She could be in a unique position to fight attempts to force people to adhere to progressive ideologies.

Lucasfilm terminated The Mandalorian, my career after 20 years. It was under the former Disney CEO Bob Chapek. Lucasfilm tweeted: “Gina Carano is not working for Lucasfilm at the moment and we have no plans to hire Gina in the future.” Her social media posts which denigrate other people based on their cultural or religious identity are unacceptable.

I was being hunted for every single post I made, even the ones that I liked. I didn’t fit the narrative of the time. My words had been twisted to demonize me and to make an example out of me.

Although I did not use any aggressive language, I did share memes, images, and quotes that were thought-provoking. Sometimes I used my words, but never aggressively.

It’s important to ask yourself, “Where did I compare Republicans and Jews during the Holocaust?” I didn’t. Ask yourself, “Why was I called a racist?” There was no basis or history for it. I was called a transphobe because of the “Beep, bop, boop” phrase. It was directed at online bullies and did not insult any transgender people.

Carano referred to her posts where she made the point that people who snitch on each other to force government dominance over the population, are similar to Nazism in Germany. Carano referred to the efforts to encourage people to report neighbors and members of their community who violate COVID-19.

She argued with activists, who accused her of not having progressive views about gender identity. In a mocking reference to R2-D2, a Star Wars character that is a Droid, she called crybullies “beep-bop-boop”.

Was it okay for me to pose questions about masks, vaccines, and lockdowns? Didn’t this bring the subject into the open? Was it allowed for us to talk about these issues in public without harassment?

According to the actress, the lawsuit was a result of a post made by X’s owner Elon Musk in November announcing that he would cover legal representation for those who were fired after posting on the platform.

If you are unfairly treated in the workplace because of something you liked or posted on this platform, we will pay your legal fees.

Carano’s lawyers claim Disney has made it clear that “only one orthodoxy is acceptable within their empire.” The lawyers also claim that Disney discriminated against Carano due to her gender, saying that she was treated differently by the company than other men in the same role.

Carano’s suit focuses on her dismissal setting a dangerous precedent for freedom of expression and thought, particularly among those on the right. Carano questions the notion that her posts were egregious enough to warrant termination.

Carano’s fight with Disney is not just a personal quest for vindication. This is also a protest against the smear campaigns that are often used to discredit individuals with views that don’t conform to progressive orthodoxy.

This case may change the game.
