What is the antidote to a president who has a lower approval rating than a professional limbo dancer? Karine Jean-Pierre was at her best on Wednesday.
The world’s best press secretary, when asked if Joe Biden would take part in a debate against Donald Trump, gave a coherent and not at all absurd response, citing that the president had faced hecklers in his last State of the Union address.

JEAN-PIERRE: You saw him last year in January 2023, at the State of the Union. He was taking on Republicans while giving a big speech. He was heckling them when he took on the Republicans. He said that he would fight for programs. He stood up and fought on behalf of the American people. That was impressive. Some of you have reported that.
I’m sorry, what? For those of us who are too connected to the internet, you can say “wut?” Biden’s reading from a teleprompter while someone is heckling him for a few seconds can be compared to a spontaneous debate with an opponent. Jean-Pierre couldn’t think of a better answer, even though he always kept a binder with answers at his fingertips. One of the greatest mysteries of our time is how she manages to keep her job.
Biden is unable to debate due to his lack of mental acuity. He needs size 50 to read a text, but he can’t get it right without making a bunch of verbal mistakes. On a good or bad day, these fumbles can be a bit embarrassing. Biden almost caused an international crisis on a bad day by saying he was going to airdrop humanitarian aid in Ukraine when he meant Gaza.
Jean-Pierre responded to a question about the public perception that Biden is hampered by his advanced age.

What data does she use? The data shows that the cumulative inflation during Biden’s tenure has led to a 20 percent increase in prices, which is crushing for American families. Data also shows that the worst border crisis the country has ever experienced is still in progress. What is the girth she refers to?
If that still doesn’t convince your doubts, maybe Jean-Pierre’s arrogance will.

It’s here. We all knew what was coming. If things get tough, shout about Russia. This is a tried-and-true strategy for Democrats around the world. Doesn’t this logic also apply to Biden? Doesn’t this “give aid to Russia” if he doesn’t just secure the border for Ukraine funding? Since solving the border crisis would be a worthwhile undertaking, I think the logic does not only apply to Biden.
It doesn’t matter. Jean-Pierre has identified the real reasons Americans give the president such low ratings.

I am sure it is. Biden’s lack of information is the main problem in his fourth year as president. If Americans only knew “where we were and what was going on”, the president could easily win reelection.
I’ll suggest an alternative. Americans hate what Biden does. Jean-Pierre might be more concerned about this than insulting people’s intelligence almost daily.
