Nurses Sound Alarm on Abortion Pill Side Effects

Abortion pills do not only harm women, but also unborn children. A group of nurses has called on the FDA, citing their own experience, to restrict abortion pills.

According to LifeNews, Dorothy Kane is the president of the National Association of Pro-Life Nurses. She told CatholicVote that nurses are “front-line witnesses” to the devastating effects of chemical abortion drugs. “We watch women arrive in emergency rooms hemorrhaging, and with life-threatening infections,” she and her group said. Once again Democrats’ healthcare, is just another way to kill babies and injure mothers.

National Association of Pro-life Nurses joined plaintiffs in a critical Supreme Court case that challenges the Food and Drug Administration for removing safeguards on the chemical abortion pill, mifepristone. On March 26, the Supreme Court heard arguments in the case U.S. Food and Drug Administration V. Alliance for Hippocratic Medicine. She noted that mifepristone has “documented complications” and “immediate risks”.

Abortion pills starve unborn children to death. Abortion causes emotional and psychological damage to rape victims and does not save the mother’s life.

The FDA would likely take action if Americans were aware of the truth behind these pills. In January 2023, nearly half of Democrats and over two-thirds of Americans (69%) supported banning abortions after the first trimester. As early as 2024, 75% of US voters between 18 and 42 years old supported restrictions on abortions at or before viability. This is a 10% rise over the 2023 figures. If American voters knew the truth about abortion pills and the harm they cause women, then they might also want to see more restrictions.

Kane said, “Women who use chemical abortion drugs suffer physical, emotional, and psychological side effects.” The FDA’s warning label on the pills states that one out of 25 women who take the pill will experience emergency medical complications.”

She emphasized that “the elimination of in-person doctor visits puts women at risk, especially those who are at high risk for ectopic pregnancy.” Some radical Democrats believe that women who live in states where abortion is restricted can get abortion pills without having to see a doctor.

LifeNews cited Kane’s argument that human smugglers benefit from “easy access” to abortion drugs as another disturbing consequence.

She said that the FDA had empowered human traffickers to abuse victims by allowing them unfettered access to these high-risk medications. She said that the lawsuit does not support banning mifepristone because there are other uses for the drug. However, she noted that there are medical alternatives to mifepristone’s non-abortion use.

Kane concluded that “frontline healthcare providers should advocate for their patients and not profit-driven drug companies.”

Similar to the ongoing attempt to stifle online discourse about contraception’s potential side effects, a topic that was once widely discussed, Democrats and government figures benefiting from Big Pharma prioritize their depopulation agenda over women’s well-being. Unlike these officials, the Founding Fathers condemned abortion as a moral and societal evil. If only today’s American leaders were as committed to moral principles rather than political expediency.
