Sen. John Fetterman, D-PA, continues to impress us with his staunch backing of Israel’s war against Hamas terrorists. He rejects President Joe Biden’s ultimatums and refuses to bend the knee when his party bows a little more each day, in the hope that Biden will win Michigan, a battleground state, in November.
Fetterman, who has taken a right-leaning position on many issues including Israel and Hamas, is unapologetic about his decision to break with Biden.
In New York City on Wednesday, Sen. Fetterman was the featured speaker at the Yeshiva University graduation ceremony. In his speech, Fetterman rammed Harvard University, where he was educated, for its lack of support of Jewish students following the terrorist attacks of October 7th.
John Fetterman, D-PA, during his Yeshiva University graduation address on Wednesday renounced Harvard University’s “inability to stand for the Jewish Community” and removed the crimson cap representing his alma matter.
Fetterman’s gesture was made early in his speech, and culminated with him receiving the Presidential Medallion – the highest honor of the private Orthodox University – for his advocacy in support of Israel and the Jewish People. He said he did not deserve to be included in the company of previous award recipients, and described himself as “just an American senator with a loud mouth who happens to stand with Israel.”
Fetterman said, “I personally do not believe it’s right that I wear this today.” Faculty members, administrators, and graduates all stood and applauded when he removed his red hood.

The move was bold and right, especially for those present, as it came just one day after Harvard administrators had announced that “the University and its Leadership will refrain from official positions on controversial issues of public policy” in response to criticisms over their failure to take seriously the concerns of Jewish student after the Hamas terror attack.
In a similar vein, I was surprised to learn that Fetterman is a Harvard Kennedy School graduate (1999, MA in Public Policy). But then again, Fetterman’s behavior has been shocking for many of us in the past six months in ways I can totally accept.
