Netanyahu’s Bold Declaration: ‘Israel Will Stand Alone if Forced!’

I never imagined a day when an American President would abandon Israel during a crisis. Joe Biden did it and it is to his eternal shame.

Biden’s Arab and Muslim coalition has some political issues. His reelection is at risk because it’s a major ethnic group that has a strong presence in many states. His biggest issue is the Democratic Party mainstream, which is begging Israel to let Hamas live another day.

Israel can’t do this. “Never again” must include no more than October 7.

Benjamin Netanyahu, Israeli Prime Minister, despite the possibility of a schism between Israel and its chief ally, remains committed to his aim of destroying Hamas.

He delivered a powerful speech on Holocaust Remembrance Day in which he stated that Israel is committed to victory.

“Today, we again confront enemies bent on our destruction.”

“I tell the world leaders that no amount of pressure or decision from any international forum will stop Israel from defending itself.”

Netanyahu was referring to the imminent indictment by the International Criminal Court of Israeli political and military leaders for war crimes.

He ended by promising: “As Prime Minister of Israel, the only Jewish State in the world, I pledge today from Jerusalem to Holocaust Remembrance Day that if Israel is forced into standing alone, Israel will be alone. We know we are not alone because so many decent people support our cause. We will overcome our genocidal opponents, I tell you. “Never again is now.”

Biden said to CNN that he’d stop arms shipments in the event Israel invaded Rafah. In his entire statement, he never once mentioned Hamas.

US President Joe Biden said on CNN that he would stop shipments of American arms to Israel if Benjamin Netanyahu ordered an invasion of Rafah.

In an exclusive interview with CNN’s Erin Burnett, Biden said that “citizens have been murdered in Gaza because of these bombs and the other ways they attack population centers.” Biden was referring to the 2,000-pound Bombs that Biden stopped shipments of in a previous week.

Israel doesn’t “go after population centers.” Biden knows that’s a falsehood.

Biden said: “I made it very clear that I would not supply the weapons used in the past to deal effectively with Rafah or the cities.”

The Israeli Defense Forces moved today with tanks and artillery on Eastern Rafah. The Israeli Defense Force is not trying to kill everyone by blowing up everything. These are tactical, targeted moves. Civilians will die, yes. The real issues will be decided once the war is over.

What is the U.S.-Israeli relationship after the war?

President Obama and other top officials warned their counterparts against an offensive in Rafah. His authority and credibility is dependent on Biden’s ability to stand behind his warnings after Netanyahu repeatedly ignored US requests to moderate the intensity of the Gaza war.

Biden’s remarks also imply a judgment that US national interest now depends on not being perceived as a complicity in the worsening humanitarian catastrophe in Gaza, which has placed the United States in conflict with many of its allies in Europe or the Middle East. It also undermines the United States’ pretensions to be able to lead the world.

Israel has only just begun to understand the aftermath of war. Who controls Gaza? Netanyahu wants Israel’s government to be chosen. What about the three million Palestinians who are often without a home, a job, or food?

Will Egypt be able to withstand the incoming flood of refugees? What about other Arab countries that were once pro-Israel, such as Jordan, UAE, and Bahrain?

Netanyahu’s survival in office is not guaranteed. Before October 7, there will be a reckoning of the failures, and Netanyahu could become a victim.

For the Middle East to remain peaceful and stable, it is essential that Israel reconcile with Washington.
