Gas prices were $2.42 per gallon for the average motorist before Joe Biden became president. Prices under Joe Biden’s regime are consistently higher than before, thanks to Bidenflation and Bidenomics.
The president’s reelection prospects are waning amid poor polling. He has a plan: dip into the nation’s strategic petroleum reserves again in an effort to show the public he cares.
Biden’s grand energy plan
Joe Biden has said he is ready to release additional oil from strategic reserves of the United States if gas prices rise during the summer. The Biden administration has announced its latest plan to combat higher gas prices and more expensive goods caused by inflation.
Biden’s energy adviser said that gas prices in the United States are “still high” and he supports taking steps to “cut them a little further.”
If you stop fighting fossil fuels and lower the price of gas, maybe that will help.
Our strategic reserves are at their lowest levels in decades because Biden is playing politics.
President Trump will lower gas prices for good by unleashing American energy! https://t.co/gGk81mWapV

The purpose of the strategic petroleum reserve is:
The Strategic Petroleum Reserve, the largest emergency crude oil supply in the world, was created primarily to minimize the impact of interruptions in petroleum product supplies and to fulfill the obligations of the United States as part of the international energy program.
It is interesting to note that the reason for its creation was not “to improve your chances of being reelected by a disgruntled electorate.”
The Biden administration continues to WEAKEN this country by releasing more from the Strategic Petroleum Reserve. They care nothing about the American people. We were ‘energy independent’ before these ANTI-American buffoons were installed at the White House. https://t.co/KrGDZhGHB5

Biden has used this trick before. In fact, he has used it more than any president before him. The administration has slowly been filling up the reserves, but now they are poised to do another drawdown. Republicans called out our reserves’ naked political use during that period:
In a letter to Energy Secretary Jennifer Granholm sent last month, senior Republican politicians called for the administration to ensure that “the SPR isn’t abused for political reasons in this election year”. They also described Biden’s SPR in 2022 release as “a transparent effort to influence the midterm election”.
The reserve wasn’t meant to boost reelection prospects for presidents; it was intended to ensure the nation’s supply of energy during disruptions like wars or natural disasters. Biden used it to play with, and we are in this mess because of his muddled energy policy.
The voters won’t fall for this.
