Joe Biden spent the last few days in France, commemorating the 80th anniversary of D-Day. His performance on Friday went viral because his strange behavior left many wondering if the 80-year-old had soiled themselves.
Biden spoke at Pointe du Hoc on Friday. If you heard his speech, it probably sounded familiar.
Joe Biden essentially plagiarized Ronald Reagan’s famous 1984 speech at Pointe du Hoc today in Normandy. Watch these clips side by side. Wow: pic.twitter.com/jeGgTS2Nnm

Yikes, that’s blatant.
Undoubtedly, it was intentional. Politico reported the day before Biden’s speech that Biden was going to use Reagan’s “playbook” in order to achieve a breakthrough in Normandy.
“Democratic Presidents aren’t inclined to use Ronald Reagan as a model.” In preparation for his trip to Normandy to commemorate the 80th anniversary D-Day, Joe Biden, his team, and three other people who are familiar with his plans, are examining closely how Ronald Reagan used a similar journey forty years ago. They want to follow his example both oratorically as well as politically.” the outlet wrote.
Reagan delivered two speeches in June 1984 on the northern coast of France to honor the sacrifices made by thousands of American soldiers throughout World War II. The one written by Peggy Noonan, and which is still remembered as immortalizing “the Boys of Pointe du Hoc”, captured the attention of the nation, raised support for Reagan’s foreign policy, and was heavily featured in the video that introduced him at the GOP Convention. It helped him win a second term. Biden’s aides have been open about wanting a repeat and inviting comparisons with “The Gipper.” They admit that they studied the Reagan visit closely and want to capture the attention and remind the public of the importance of the issues still at hand. Biden is expected to pay homage to the climactic battles of freedom and democracy in a similar way to Reagan. He will also deliver his remarks on the iconic cliffs, where Reagan stood.
It was funny, until you realized Biden’s team had taken Reagan’s remarks and run them through AI using the prompt “change it a little bit”, thinking that this would somehow capture Reagan magic. It doesn’t. It was a bad idea, and worse, Biden has a history of plagiarism.
He was accused of plagiarism during his first year at law school. Multiple accusations of plagiarism derailed his 1988 presidential campaign, claiming that he had lifted passages of speeches by John F. Kennedy and Robert F. Kennedy as well as former Labour Party leader Neil Kinnock.
His campaign in the 2020 Democratic Primary copied Bernie Sanders’ website and platform. Even the passages in his speech accepting the Democratic nomination for 2020 seemed to be plagiarized.
He never learns.
