Daughter of Trump Assassination Attempt Victim Shares Heartfelt Tribute to Her Father’s Final Heroic Actions

The gunman who tried to assassinate Donald Trump, former president, at a rally held in Butler, Pennsylvania on Saturday has been identified as a former Pennsylvania volunteer fire chief.

Corey Comperatore, 50, who served as the fire chief for Buffalo Township, was shot and killed by Thomas Matthew Crooks, 20, at the rally, Pennsylvania Gov. Josh Shapiro said Sunday.

Comperatore’s daughter made a touching statement on her Facebook profile about the last moments of her father. Allyson Comperatore wrote the following:

Yesterday, time stopped. When it began again, my family and I started to live a nightmare. What was meant to be a fun day we all anticipated (especially my dad), turned out to be the most traumatic experience anyone could ever imagine.

I’m sure the media will cover this. I will do my best not to look at anything because I have already experienced it. I’m curious to see what the media won’t cover and say about him.

He was the most wonderful father a girl could ask for. We never had a need. He would answer your call and do what you asked. If he did not know, he’d figure it out. He was able to talk and make new friends with anyone. Yesterday, he did this all day and loved it.

Allyson wrote about her father’s faith as well: “He loved Jesus and looked after the church and its members like family.”

Allyson referred to her father as a “real-life superhero” when asked about “what the media won’t tell you.”

The Media won’t say he was a real-life superhero. The media won’t tell you just how fast he threw my mom and me to the floor to shield us against the bullets coming at us.

He loved his family. He loved us so much that he was willing to die for us. I would love to thank him by crying to him. I would love to be able to wake up and have this not be a reality for my family and me.

Allyson wrote, in her now-deleted Facebook post: “We have lost a loving, selfless husband, father, and brother.” …”

Conclusion:

It is a travesty when stories such as those of Corey Comperatore’s daughter Allyson, which are part of larger issues, are not reported. Families suffer, and often silently, as the conditions that lead to these larger issues continue.
