The wealth of information available online is one of the best things about the Internet. The Information Revolution is the third revolution in human history, after the Agricultural Revolution and the Industrial Revolution. Anyone with a computer or tablet, even a phone, has access to the entire world. In the history of mankind, information has never been so widely available or easy to get.
As a gun enthusiast, I have spent many happy hours over the years reading about obscure firearms, tidbits, and firearms history. If you’ve ever read one of my Sunday Gun Day articles, you may have seen the results. I’ve watched many gun videos on YouTube, including those by YouTube gun expert Paul Harrell.
Paul informed his viewers a while ago that he was diagnosed with pancreatic carcinoma. He announced his death on his YouTube channel Tuesday.
In a video posted posthumously, Paul Harrell, a popular YouTube firearms expert announced his death at age 58 from pancreatic carcinoma.
Brad Nelson, his manager, posted the final message of his late U.S. Army veteran and Marine Corps, known for his firearms instruction videos, gun reviews, and 2nd Amendment advocacy on his YouTube channel, Tuesday.
Harrell claimed that the six-minute video was taken on December 20, 2023. He was sitting on a tree log with a crutch beside him.
Harrell started the video, titled “I Am Dying,” with “If You’re Watching This, I Am Dead.”
Pancreatic cancer can be particularly bad. It’s something we have experienced because a friend of mine died of pancreatic carcinoma a few years ago. The disease is deadly and strikes fast, often within weeks or even months after diagnosis.
Paul’s fans praised him in the comments of his final video.
Harrell’s supporters took to the comments after the clip went up to thank him for using his platform as a voice to advocate for gun owners’ rights and educate his audience about gun safety.
One fan called him “a giant among giants”. Paul is more than a gun enthusiast or educator. He is The Gun Educator. Many people will remember your contributions for many years. “Your teachings will continue to live on.”
Another added: “Paul, you are the OG Youtube Gun Guy and you will be deeply missed,” Thank you for the wonderful content!
One commenter said, “Paul was Mister Rogers in the world of guns.” “RIP Paul.”
It takes a lot to build a loyal following on the Internet. Paul put in a lot of work, gaining nearly three million fans, but it was all worth it because he had great content. Paul’s programming was diverse. Paul showed concealed carry weapons, gear, and tactics. He also displayed everything from shotguns to rifles and first aid kits. In one video, he may be demonstrating concealed carry sidearms and in the next, he might be plinking with an.22 rifle. He maintained an authentic, friendly, and folky demeanor throughout. He would have made a great neighbor.
Paul, rest in peace. Paul, the online Second Amendment and gun community already misses you.
