A GOP-led congressional committee is calling out Minnesota Governor Tim Walz for a recent report that exposed a Minnesota Education Department scam that was designed to defraud the state of $250,000,000 in funds intended to feed children in the COVID epidemic. The cabal appears to include not just a non-profit based in the 10,000 Lakes state, but officials from various levels of government–including a member of the Biden administration cabinet.
The House Education and Workforce Committee has subpoenaed Tim Walz (the Minnesota Governor and running-mate of Kamala Harris and Tim Walz) to provide documents and other information regarding the Feeding Our Future scandal COVID-19.
Thanks to a subpoena issued by a committee focused on the American education system, we now know more about the allegations made against the man who could become the next vice president of the United States.
The Minnesota Department of Health and Human Services has accused Feeding Our Future of misusing taxpayer funds. This organization, which is based in Minnesota, was meant to feed children who were hungry with $250 million.
The federal government has charged five people with fraud. This nonprofit group was also charged with more than 70 people. They submitted fake names of children who were given free meals during the pandemic.
Other individuals are listed in The Hill’s Report, which is linked above. Members of Congress may be interested to hear from them. Tom Vilsack, the Biden Agriculture Department’s Director, Phyllis Fong, the Agriculture Inspector-General, and Will Jett of Minnesota Commissioner for Education are among those who lawmakers would like to hear from.
Virginia Foxx (R-NC), Education Chair, wrote in a Thursday letter:
“Statements in the media made by you or your representative indicate that either you or you knew MDE’s (Minnesota Department of Education) administration of the FCNP program and its responsibilities, actions, and related fraud.
This is interesting. We reported earlier that there were whispers about Team Kamala’s displeasure at the decision to replace Pennsylvania Governor Josh Shapiro by MN Governor Walz.
More details will be provided as soon as they are available.
