Kamala Harris Cites Ohio and Project 2025 in Response to Secret Service Questions

The National Association of Black Journalists asked Vice President Kamala Harris to speak at their Tuesday meeting. She was asked about the Secret Service in light of the second attempt to assassinate her Republican rival and former President Donald Trump.

Harris responded, “I have full confidence in the Secret Service.”

Harris replied, “But you can go to Ohio,” referring to the reports of bomb threats made against Springfield, Ohio, which were attributed to Republican rhetoric including that of Trump and JD Vance, Trump’s running mate.

“And right now, too many people do not feel safe in our country. I mean, I take a look at Project 2025 as well as the “Don’t Say Gay Laws” coming out of Florida. Members of the LGBTQ Community don’t feel secure right now.”

The Heritage Foundation has drafted a blueprint for Project 2025 to create a “better nation for all Americans”, during a conservative administration.

The “Don’t Say Gay” Bill refers to Florida’s Parental Rights in Education Act, which prohibits school personnel or third parties from teaching “sexual orientation” or “gender identity” in kindergarten and third grade. Democrats falsely labeled this bill as “Don’t Say Gay” and claimed that it banned any discussion relating to being gay within the schools of the state.

Harris added that “immigrants”, “women”, and “other minorities” are also among those who, according to her, do not feel safe.

Harris stated, “I feel safe because the Secret Service protects me, but it doesn’t alter my view of the importance of fighting to ensure the safety of everyone in our country.”
