Paul Pelosi’s Attacker Sentenced to Life Without Parole

David DePape was sentenced on Tuesday to a life without parole in prison for the attack he committed in October 2022 with a hammer against Paul Pelosi the husband of former Speaker Nancy Pelosi. The sentence was handed down by Judge Harry Dorfman after he dismissed calls for a retrial.

 

After a separate trial, the man sentenced to thirty years in federal prison after he used a hammer to attack the husband of the former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi in their California house was sentenced on Tuesday to a life sentence without parole.

 

In June, a San Francisco jury found David DePape guilty on charges such as aggravated kidnapping and first-degree burglary.

When Judge Dorfman says that he “went in to attack a federal leader,” he’s referring to the kidnapping plan of Nancy Pelosi. Her husband, Paul Pelosi is not a federal leader nor is a government official.

 

David DePape read a statement during the sentencing. It was, to be polite, a bit daffy.

 

DePape spoke in length to the court before his sentencing. He was dressed in orange prison garb and had his hair in a bun.

 

DePape, who was reading off of sheets of paper, told the court: “I am a psychic.” The more I meditate, I become more psychic.

 

He didn’t seem to be psychic enough to know that he was about to receive a life term when he attacked Paul Pelosi.

 

 

David DePape was convicted on federal charges including the assault of a family member of a federal officer and the attempted kidnapping of a federal representative. DePape received a 30-year sentence in May for these crimes. This sentence will be served simultaneously with the new one.

 

DaPape himself admitted that he was thinking of kidnapping.

 

DePape confessed during his federal court trial that he intended to hold Nancy Pelosi as a hostage, to record his questioning of her and to “break her kneecaps,” if she refused to admit the lies she had told him about “Russiagate,” which is the investigation into Russian meddling in the 2016 presidential election.

 

It is clear that this is a man who would be better off with crowbars. The people of the United States will also feel safer.
