President-elect Trump announced that billionaire Elon Musk and former GOP presidential candidate Vivek Ramaswamy will lead the Department of Government Efficiency.
Trump stated that the two will work together “to dismantle Government Bureaucracy and cut excess regulations, wasteful expenditures, as well as restructure Federal Agencies.”
The announcement made on Tuesday night said that “it could become the Manhattan Project of our time.” “Republican politicians dreamed of the DOGE objectives for a long time.”
The president-elect stated that Ramaswamy and Musk will “provide advice and guidance from outside of Government and will partner the White House and Office of Management & Budget to drive a large scale structural reform and create an entrepreneurial government approach never seen before.”
Trump said the agency would be focused on creating an efficient U.S. Government that aims to “improve life for all Americans.”
“We will eliminate the waste and fraud that exists in our $6.5 Trillion annual Government Spending.” They will collaborate to liberate the economy and hold the U.S. Government responsible to “WE THE PEOPLE.” Trump said.
“Their work won’t be completed until no later than the 4th of July 2026. A smaller government, with greater efficiency and less bureaucracy, will be the ideal gift for America at the 250th anniversary of The Declaration of Independence. “I am confident that they will succeed!”
In an X post, Ramaswamy reacted to his appointment.
“We will not go gently, Elon Musk,” he wrote in the post.
Ramaswamy is a vocal Trump supporter after Trump suspended his campaign for president on Jan. 24, 2017.
In a press release on X the founder of Roivant Sciences a pharmaceutical firm, announced that he was withdrawing from the Ohio Senate appointment.
He wrote: “And yes, that means I am withdrawing from consideration for the Senate appointment in Ohio.” “Whoever DeWine nominates to JD’s seat will have some very big shoes to fill.” I will assist them in any way I can.”
Musk, a tech entrepreneur who has been traveling to key battleground states in the lead-up to the 2024 election, is also a major part of Trump’s campaign.
In response to his position in Trump’s White House, Musk wrote: “Threat to democracy? Nope, a threat to BUREAUCRACY!!!”
After the July 13 assassination of the 45th President, the world’s wealthiest man, who had previously voted for Democratic presidential candidates, including Biden, has endorsed Trump.
Trump’s cabinet positions were announced shortly after his landslide win over Vice President Kamala Harris.
Trump has chosen top Republicans. The president-elect is expected to choose Florida Senator Marco Rubio as his Secretary Of State, and South Dakota Governor. Kristi Noem will be the new secretary of Homeland Security.
In addition, Rep. Elise Stefanik, R-N.Y., has been tapped for United Nations ambassador and former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee as ambassador to Israel.
