Giuliani Appeals Ruling Requiring Him to Surrender Assets to Election Workers

Rudy Giuliani appealed on Thursday a decision by a judge last month that ordered him to hand over the majority of his assets to Georgia election workers to satisfy their $146,000,000 defamation judgment.

After collecting items for months, U.S. district judge Lewis Liman ordered Giuliani on October 22 to turn over his New York apartment and other items, including a Mercedes-Benz, luxury watch, autographed New York Yankees memorabilia, cash, and more.

The former New York City Mayor missed the deadline for compliance, but according to his new lawyer, much of the property was transferred since then.

Giuliani who consented to a large part of the order hopes to now reverse it. He has filed a notice to appeal the matter to the 2nd U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals.

Giuliani’s spokesperson was contacted for comment. She had previously described the attempts to seize Giuliani’s assets as political bullying and intimidation.

Ruby Freeman, Wandrea “Shaye”, Moss, and their jury won $146 million at a December trial after Giuliani slandered the mother-daughter pair by falsely alleging they committed mass election fraud in Atlanta while working as election workers there in 2020. Giuliani has appealed the verdict separately.

The two have accused Giuliani of continuing to defame and insult them. On Wednesday, they asked a different judge to hold a former Trump lawyer in civil contempt over recent comments made on his radio program.
