Multiple reports claim that Donald Trump, the President-elect, has appointed billionaire hedge fund manager Scott Bessent as Secretary of Treasury.
Bessent has been dubbed a cryptocurrency enthusiast and a proponent of deregulation. He will be an important figure in leveraging America’s economic strength to advance its diplomatic goals.
He has advocated his version of Japan’s “three arrows” plan as the focus for economic rejuvenation: 3% real GDP growth, a 3% deficit, and “3 million additional oil barrels flowing per day from U.S. Energy Production.”
Bessent, who has followed the pattern of other announcements made this week, has been a Trump supporter since his first term. He was an Al Gore fund-raiser in 2000 and a member of George Soros’ inner circle.
Bessent has Trump’s confidence and is well-known on Wall Street. These qualities in combination promise to put an end to Bidenomics’ stagflation.
