Kellyanne Conway was recently interviewed by The Wall Street Journal. She was asked about what a second Trump presidency would look like. Also, she explained why Trump won and why more women did not support Vice President Kamala.
Conway’s explanation of why Harris lost, was the most fascinating part of the interview.
The interviewer asked:
Why didn’t Kamala Harris get the wave of female voters that many people expected to emerge and save her?
Conway only needed two words to answer this question: “Kamala Harris.”
Brilliant — and right. Conway explained further:
Two words will do: Kamala Harris. She ran a bad campaign. She is not an inspiring, informative, or particularly informative candidate. This is not an insult. I am telling you how the public reacted to it. If you don’t think I am telling the truth, look back at the results of all those elections.
You are no longer going to tell who I am, how I feel, or for whom I should cast my vote, based on gender, age, and religion. I will make my own choices.
Kellyanne was correct, but also too kind.
Kamala Harris is and will remain a fraud. She couldn’t construct a coherent sentence, much less give a detailed and specific response to questions about her policies or what she would do differently from failed President Joe Biden. Her scripted, silly answers became memes. How many times has she started a meaningless response with “Let’s first say that I grew up in a middle-class family …”?
Harris also tried to focus on Trump’s faults rather than the reasons why voters should back her candidacy. It’s only a matter of time before people stop listening when you call someone a racist, a danger to democracy, and unqualified for president. Ironically, Harris did not explain why she was qualified to be President, which she was not.
Conway then explained the context of Harris’s defeat.
Joe Biden was the winner by 13 points. Women, President Obama won by 11 points over Mitt Romney. Did even better in eight against McCain. The female, the female candidate who is of color will make history. They’re pushing abortion as their top issue. It is devastating for the party to only win by 8 points.
Why don’t women come out more? They did. Since 1964, we have been the largest group of voters in presidential elections. We just held the 16th consecutive vote where we decided who the President is. We’re not going to be narrowly cast. You can’t expect us to vote if you only talk to us at waist level. You need to talk to us from the waist upwards. We also use our brains as well as our eyes, ears, hearts, and big mouths.
Correct. Harris and the Democrat Party attempted to place female voters in a single box: the abortion box.
It turns out that a majority of women voters are more concerned about putting food on their table than abortions.
