Piers Morgan was dumbfounded by a panel with former Washington Post journalist Taylor Lorenz who claimed to be “joyful” about the cold-blooded killing of UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson.
Thompson was killed on 4 December in Manhattan in a targeted shooting by a gunman waiting outside the New York Hilton Midtown. He was shot several times.
Luigi Mangione was arrested on Monday after he was recognized in a McDonald’s. He was found with a weapon, a silent gun, and a document criticizing healthcare providers.
Lorenz openly suggested that other healthcare executives should also suffer the same fate after applauding Thompson’s brutal killing on social media. Taylor, who was also on a panel with Tomi Lahren and Morgan, reacted angrily when Morgan invited her to the discussion.
Piers Morgan loses it on former Washington Post reporter Taylor Lorenz, who has obviously lost her mind in recent years.
Says she feels “joy” over #UnitedHealthcare CEO’s murder.

“Why would you be in such a celebratory mood about the execution of another human being?” the British journalist asked. “Aren’t you supposed to be on the caring, sharing left where, you know, you believe in the sanctity of life?”
Lorenz responded, “I believe in the sanctity and dignity of life, and I think this is why, like so many Americans, I felt joy, unfortunately.”
At this point, Lorenz tries to make a halfhearted apology. However, the smile and giggling that followed throughout the segment revealed her true feelings.
“Joy?! Serious? Morgan, shocked at the response, retorted: “Joy at a man’s execution?”
Lorenz defended his statement by saying “Empathy is not the same as joy”.

How can you be joyful about this? This man is a husband and father who was shot in Manhattan. Why is that making you happy?” asked “Piers Morgan Uncensored”.
Lorenz said, “So are the thousands of Americans he killed!” Lorenz argued, “So are the innocent Americans who died, because greedy insurance executives, like this one, push a policy that denies care to the most vulnerable.” I’m a part of the millions of Americans who have seen people they care about suffer, and in some cases, die, because of lack of healthcare.
It’s time to get back to the fun part.
Morgan asked Lorenz if she thought all healthcare officials were to be killed in the same way. Lorenz laughed like a girl and added, “Um… no.”
Why not? Why are you laughing at this? You find it funny. A man has been killed in the street. Piers responded, “I don’t think it is funny at all.”
Morgan brought Lahren to the table and things became a bit tense.
Lorenz asked the host to stop referring back to her earlier comments that she was “joyful,” even though Thompson’s murder had occurred earlier in the segment.
Lorenz was seen laughing repeatedly when Lahren called Lahren’s take on the alleged journalist a “bridge too far.” Morgan was forced to intervene and call out the bumbling behavior.
“Taylor, I don’t mean to be rude, but why the f**k are you laughing all the time?” the exasperated host shot back. “I don’t get it. Sorry, apologies for my language, but honestly, I find it unbelievable! What are you laughing at?”
Vox Media’s decision to end its distribution deal for Taylor’s podcast and YouTube show may have been influenced by Taylor’s insane justification of cold-blooded murder.
